Panthers Group, owners of the Penrith Panthers, have signed an agreement with a global accommodation heavyweight, Accor, in aims to deliver the first 5-star hotel in Western Sydney.
Consisting of 153 rooms, a 1,000-person conference centre and a community centre, the 5-star Pullman Hotel forms part of the Panthers Group transformation of the Penrith Panthers precinct to create a new business and entertainment destination for all.
Set to open at the later end of 2023, the hotel is allied to the new 1250sqm Western Sydney Conference Centre (WSCC) in which it will serve. The WSCC will host a range of on-site facilities, including a restaurant and bar, private dining rooms, and a ground floor café.
“Pullman Sydney Penrith will be an elevated addition to western Sydney’s tourism offering and builds upon the existing, and upcoming new amenities within the Panthers precinct and the wider Penrith locale,” Panthers Group chief executive Brian Fletcher said.
“It is part of our ongoing commitment to deliver world-class facilities to the local community … and will further enhance Penrith’s reputation as a world-class event and tourism destination.”
The city of Penrith is on the edge of a significant tourism boom, with major infrastructure works currently underway to further enhance the Penrith Panthers precinct, including the upcoming Western Sydney International Airport just 30 minutes away.
“Western Sydney is going through a significant growth period, especially in Penrith, which is enjoying a tourism and infrastructure boom through the new airport. It really is the engine room of Sydney,” Accor Pacific CEO Sarah Derry said.
The partnership announcement is a huge step forward in the growth of Western Sydney, and we are excited for future developments to deliver state-of-the-art buildings that’ll serve the local community.
