Momentum isn’t measured by a single project. It’s built through the steady progression of many — new commissions, planning milestones, projects moving into construction, and a team continuing to grow alongside the practice.
Over the past month, we’ve seen meaningful progress across industrial, education, community, and residential work, reinforcing our commitment to designing for the growing communities of Western Sydney and beyond.
This month, we’re pleased to welcome Ahmed Jundi to Furfaro Architects as Project Lead.
Ahmed also recently achieved Architectural Registration after successfully completing his Architectural Registration Examination and interview. It’s an important professional milestone and a valuable addition to our studio as we continue to deliver increasingly complex projects across multiple sectors.
As our practice grows, so too does our investment in the people who help shape it.
A significant milestone this month was the lodgement of the Development Application for 269–283 Aldington Road with Penrith City Council.
Located within the Mamre Road Employment Area, the project delivers a coordinated industrial and commercial precinct comprising warehouse units, commercial workspace, and integrated site circulation. Months of collaboration with our client and consultant team have brought the project to this point, and we’re looking forward to progressing it through the assessment process.
Following a positive Pre-DA outcome with Wingecarribee Shire Council, we’ve commenced Design Development for Lot 3, Loftus Street, Bowral.
Working alongside Michael Brown Planning Strategies, the project proposes a boutique apartment development that responds to the unique character of the Southern Highlands through contemporary architecture, carefully considered materiality, and refined residential design.
We’re also pleased to have been engaged by Cumberland City Council to deliver the design for the new OzHarvest Distribution Warehouse in Guildford West.
Projects like this remind us that architecture has the potential to support more than buildings — it can strengthen the organisations that serve our communities. We’re proud to contribute to a facility that will assist OzHarvest in expanding its food rescue and distribution network across Sydney, particularly throughout Western Sydney.
Construction continues at 38 The Battlement, Castlecrag, where our Architecture and Interiors teams are working closely with the client, builder, and consultant team to ensure the design intent is carried through every stage of construction.
Seeing projects transition from documentation into built form remains one of the most rewarding parts of our work.
June also saw two new residential commissions added to the studio.
At 41 Darling Street, Abbotsbury, we’re commencing a knock-down rebuild on a unique site overlooking Calmsley Hill City Farm.
At 15 Cubitt Drive, Denham Court, we’ve begun designing alterations and additions to an existing acreage home, continuing our work across diverse residential settings throughout Western Sydney.
Construction documentation continues for the Al Sadiq College Primary School Campus at 83 Jocelyn Street, Chester Hill.
Building on the recently approved adaptive reuse strategy, the project continues to evolve into a contemporary learning environment that transforms an existing retirement village into a vibrant primary school campus. Every stage of documentation focuses on creating spaces that support meaningful learning while delivering long-term value to the school community.
As we move further into the year, our focus remains unchanged — working closely with our clients, consultant teams, and project partners to deliver architecture that responds to place, supports community, and keeps pace with the regions in which we work.
It’s been a productive period for the studio, and we’re looking forward to what’s next.
If you’re planning a commercial, industrial, education, or residential project, our team would welcome the opportunity to work with you.
